CarNucopia
Might this car have been born a sedan?http://www.ebay.com/itm/151717721221?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT#viTabs_0
MCHinson
I would guess that there is about a 99.99% chance that you are correct. I am also about 99.99% sure that the same car was on craigslist in Southeastern North Carolina a few months back. It was located about 20 miles from me but the photos of the top looked so bad that I did not even go look at it.
Grandpa
The car started life as a sedan. Note that there isn't a body structure that ties the B-pillars together behind the front seat as on a factory built convertible sedan.
suchan
Bet it's a pretty exciting ride down the road, what, with all that vibrating and body torquing.
supersix
That top looks terrible.
MCHinson
This is also the third time it has been on eBay. I personally think it was bid too high both prior times but neither met the seller's reserve.
39BuickEight
The seller has to know what he/she has by now, yet they are not being honest. Nothing wrong with any car at the right price. The right price is apparently less than what the seller has in it and/or feels it's worth, regardless of what it actually is. All of the disclaimers indicate issues in the past and should scare a lot of people away. trp3141592
Hi, Well, someone parted with over 16 grand for this "special" car. The Ebay listing marks it as "Sold." I hope they got their money's worth. --Tom
MCHinson
Not necessarily... The listing was ended. It probably means someone made some sort of offer outside of ebay, but there are other possible explanations. It was probably sold for some amount less than the listing price. I hope someone is not going to be disappointed to find out later that he bought a modified vehicle not knowing what it was.
39BuickEight
Maybe someone reported the ad to eBay and he has to edit it/take it down? I'm not sure how that works. If it has ever "sold" before by the same seller, you can bet the buyer wasn't/weren't happy. Just a weird listing altogether. But, like I said, there is a price for every car, whatever it is. Restorer32
The top irons are standard boat parts available from any marine catalog. Fake and not even a well done fake.

Terry Stock
The voiceover on the video at ebay does say "professionally made into a convertible back then." [when it was a movie car].No deception there.
Matt Harwood
I looked at that thing quite a bit and it just didn't look right at all. The top, the lack of windows, the missing stanchions between the side windows, they all said there was a bad story behind this car somewhere. I didn't watch the video, so I didn't hear him say it was a cut up sedan, but that would have been nice to include in the written description, too. Hopefully the new owner didn't pay much for it. LAS VEGAS DAVE
I would imagine that the buyer did listen to the video and paid accordingly, If he didn't he should have.
