Rusty_OToole Posted June 18, 2015 Share Posted June 18, 2015 If the clutch has its own oil supply, I recommend automatic transmission fluid. I used to use it in English motorcycles with wet clutch, it worked better than the recommended motor oil. The main difference was the plates did not stick together when cold. Multi plate clutches tend not to release until they are warmed up. The trans fluid cured this. Also, auto trans fluid is formulated to work with multi plate clutches, all auto transmissions have them. And to protect them, and their gear mechanisms from wear.
