DNC
Hi Friends, I have a 76 Cadillac Fleetwood Talisman with the auto leveling system. I have had the rear shocks disconnected and replaced them with manual air shocks. I have not disconnected the pump yet so it is still running. Is there a specific way the pump needs to be disconnected or any lines plugged to prevent loss of vacuum? Thank you
Marty Roth
Just unplug it, or pull the fuse to disable the motor
DNC
Just unplug it, or pull the fuse to disable the motorThank you for replying. Yes, I know how to turn the motor off, I was just wondering if there is a certain way it must be disconnected in order to prevent a vacuum leak. Do the lines need to be plugged? If I am remembering correctly it is powered by vacuum from the motor??
Marty Roth
Sorry for the delay in responding to your additional question - we've been on the road, touring with another old car. To the best of my recollection, nothing more need be done, other than to disable the pump as previously noted. Good luck.
