Guest De Soto Frank Posted February 27, 2002 Posted February 27, 2002 Perhaps you T&C folks can help me,
I have a '48 C-39 New Yorker that "blew a coil spring" thru the bottom of the lower control arm.
Are the lower arms & springs different for the 6 cylinder cars?
So far, I have not been able to find new replacement springs, and am contemplating possibility of using components from the six cyl "small chassis"?
Thanks!
Guest Posted May 3, 2002 Posted May 3, 2002 Frank: I am sorry that I have not checked our site recently. WOW! That lower control arm must have been pretty rusty, to "blow out". I don't have my parts book at home, but I believe that the control arms themselves might be the same on the Windsor and New Yorkers. However, I believe that the joints at the ends are different, and the brakes are definitely different. There is a manufacturer of new coil springs in Kansas.
