Guest Posted November 25, 2001 Posted November 25, 2001 A freind has just bought a nice 1917 Detroit Electric sedan.
The batteries and cales between them had been removed. We haven't a clue as to how many belong in the car or how the should be connected. Anyone willing to help me with this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Aaron griffey, Hayward Ca. agriffey@yahoo.com

Guest Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 Data that I have on the Detroit Electric suggests the operating voltage was 80, the motor is probably rated 4 hp (3kW).
DaveBerg Posted April 26, 2003 Posted April 26, 2003 I run a 1914 Detroit Electric that I believe has a 1922 motor in it on 84 volts. 14 six volt batteries and it has been great for a number of years.
