rapom
I have a 64 riviera that has a slight blowby problem. I noticed that the california models had a closed system with a separate cap and breather assembly. The rest of us have the open system type breather, oil cap type. Is there a different cap I can use that I could plumb into my existing air cleaner assembly?
RivNut
First replace the PCV valve and make sure that you've got good vacuum to it. Then give the breather a good solvent bath so it can start breathing again. If those both fail, then it's time to start turning to an alternative. Yes, there are breather caps which have a provision/nipple to attach a hose. Or, you can use an older Nailhead valley pan and install a downdraft tube. At least the blowby would be less likely to creep thru the firewall into the cabin. Tom Mooney
