db17
Hello everyone. I'm looking for someone who can rebuild a 1929 Dodge flat head 6. I'm in the San Antonio area and willing to send it where it needs to go. I've asked several engine re-builders locally but I don't get a real good feeling from them. I'm afraid to leave it with someone who thinks his abilities are good enough and end up with a hash job. I've also found people who take your money and the engine just sets. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

MIClassicGuy
We haven't had ours running yet, but so far we are happy with our 29' Victory six engine rebuild from Pake's Engine in Wisconsin....They seem to do a lot of older work, such as antique tractors, etc.
Guest Bob Call
db17There should be shops/mechanics in the SA/Austin, DFW or Houston areas that can rebuild your engine. Check the Walter P Chrysler club site, www.chryslerclub.org, for regional officers and give the Texas guys a call and see if they can point you in the right direction.Send an email to Jim Edwards, carnut@industryinet.com. Jim lives somewhere around La Grange I believe. He has good knowledge of old cars and may be able to give you some leads. I just checked and Jim's last post on this site was in 2013. He may not be on the grid any longer. Edited May 3, 2015 by Bob Call (see edit history)
db17
Thanks gentlemen for the response, I sent an e-mail to Jim and also signed up with the Chrysler club. Pake's in Wisconsin would probably do a great job but I'll check local places first. Thanks for the lead MIclassicGuy
