ply33 Posted July 16, 2002 Share Posted July 16, 2002 The 1946-54 Plymouth Service Manual (for a very similar engine) says: "The thermostat spring should be installed so that about one full turn (355 degrees of wrap) is required to hook the outer end of he spring around the stop stud." The diagram shows the spring being tightened by wrapping it counter clockwise about one turn.<P>I would be a little surprised if the Chrysler engine were radically different. Guest Posted July 16, 2002 Share Posted July 16, 2002 thank you for responding the spring i have is coiled do i uncoil some from center of spring and slide into butterfly stud that has a split in it and bend it into counter weight and outside coil rest on small end of outside part of counter weight . the way part came i ordered when slid onto stud split the counter weight wont slide on connect to weight Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
