bungalowbill
This project car was started by my late father in the early 1950's. Ten complete restorations of various cars intervened and the Maxwell never got finished. He was an experimental test engineer for GM for 45 years and a member of the AACA for nearly 50 years. The car is powered by a 10 horse 1 cylinder Wisconsin engine (pull start) married to a shortened '48 Crosley frame and running gear. It has 3 speed trans with 4 wheel mechanical shoe brakes. Complete with right hand steering!! Throttle and spark controlled at hand made steering wheel. This vehicle exhibits incredible craftsmanship at every level, from the hand made riveted hood to steam bent seat back to mahogany and brass fitted two piece windshield. Much of the engineering has been completed, but it still needs a top, spoke wheels, and the fenders to be finished. Front fenders are started and back fender wood patterns have been made and are included. The overall size is approximately 90 inches; the wheel base is approximately 60 inches, and the width from running board to running board is approximately 44 inches. $3500 or reasonable offer. The car is located near Chicago, Illinois.
