boojoe
I need a carter one barrel for a 50 stude six cyl. It seems I have stripped the threads on the fuel inlet. It can be a core as I can rebuild it. Hopfully I don't do that again.:cool:
carbking
Listed in order of scarcity:The passenger Champion six used a Carter 715s.The passenger Commander six used a Carter 627s.The 2R5 truck six used a Carter 633s.The 2R16 truck six used a Carter 606s.The 2R6 truck six used a Carter 777s.Of the above, the 715s is relatively common (nothing on a Studebaker is "common") to the 777s which is quite scarce.Jon. nvonada
Those are all Carter WE carbs right? The three-digit number is the tag number for a particular carb setup. In which case you can probably get any Carter WE and rebuild with your old carb's parts. There are usually several on e-Bay. But no harm in going right to an expert and getting what you need if you don't want to fight with it.

rbk
The simply way would be to tell us if it is a Champion or Commander. The Champions used the WE and the Commanders the BBR-1.I have plenty of good cores.Robert Kapteyn
