Guest Posted February 15, 2002 Posted February 15, 2002 I have a 66 Malibu 230 6 federal emission (not YF5 California or AIR). It seems that I have too many vacuum lines coming out of the Air Cleaner. Is the correct air cleaner one with a breather filter? Mine has a breather filter, pcv, heater tube & valve from exhaust manifold to intake; no air injection, no power brakes, no air conditioning. Any illistratioins or pictures of the correct set up. Chevy parts books seem to have only general illistrations.
Thanks.
Guest Posted February 16, 2002 Posted February 16, 2002 I think that you have the wrong air cleaner. My '67 Malibu has NO vacuum lines going to the air cleaner. It is a V-8 though.
I am pretty sure that the mid '60s Chevy's with a "buzzin half dozen" that I have seen had no vacuum lines going to the air cleaner.
novaman Posted February 16, 2002 Posted February 16, 2002 I believe you have the air cleaner and who know what else off of a newer Chev. 6 cyl.
There are no breather elements listed before 1968 for the Chevelle in my parts books. Same applies for my Chevy IIs.
