1955 Lights Heat Defrost knobs

The only one that is supposed to be painted is the parking brake release knob.

I have seen them all painter white, and to me it gets a bit busy.

For Andreas,

The gear shift knob just twists off. The turn signal black knob can only come off with some heat. Like when you are going to chrome the stalk. Then it has to be epoxied back on.

mmh i tried a few times to twist the gear shift knob off, but no way!

any hints how to handle this without damaging the knob itself?

Try some penetrating oil. let it sit a few hours (or days). Of course, you'll want to mask the knob from receiving the oil. Just a bit of oil to seep between the knob and shaft

Apply heat (careful, not too much heat that would melt the plastic) A heat gun on low setting should be quite enough.

Be sure you're turning anti-clockwise...
