Guest 62wildcat
Hi Everybody- I'm seeing that the tires for my car are 7.60x15... Does this translate to a 225/75/R15? The car is white so i'm also thinking whitewalls???? Suggestions and manufacturers??
D Yaros
Back in the day it would be hard to picture a Buick without whitewalls. After all, was it not marketed as being only 1 step down from a Cadillac.?
Guest 62wildcat
I agree. This baby has Vogue tires on it now but i'm realizing that I can't go dropping a bunch of money on a car that I am trying hard to sell.
RivNut
You are correct. The 7.60 converts to today's 215/75R15. If you look on the Riviera Owners forum you can see a similar thread and what brands of tires are being suggested for replacements. http://forums.aaca.org/f177/bias-look-radials-388061.html In post #4, I linked a conversion chart. However, most of that discussion is based on finding reproduction bias tires. There are however some references to the correct white side wall radials. Diamond Back, Universal, Coker, Firestone, and Hankook all have tires that have white side walls and come in the correct size.Ed Edited February 18, 2015 by RivNut (see edit history)
cjp69
Friend of mine bought the Hankook Optimo 724's for his 67 Wildcat. Said the white wall is about 9/16 wide. He got them from Walmart for $75, and they also carry them at Tirerack for $70. He bought 235/75's, but they have 215 and 225's as well.http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?width=215%2F&ratio=75&diameter=15&startIndex=0&search=true&pagelen=20&pagenum=1&pagemark=1&manufacturer=Hankook
Pete Phillips
1962 is the first year for narrow whitewalls on a full-sized Buick, but you probably know that already. Nice looking Invicta!Pete Phillips
