I need a sealer that will stand up to brake fluid. 29 Chrysler has a brake fluid reservoir seperate from the master cylinder. Does anyone know of a sealer that will work to seal this? Thanks

What are you trying to seal? Does the resevoir leak? Does the pipe from the resevoir to the master cylinder leak? Are you worried about spillage onto the paint on the firewall when you fill the resevoir?
If you want a sealer for the paint, an alternative would be to use silicone brake. Silicone brake fluid does not distroy paint like conventional brake fluid.
If you are having leakage on the resevoir or tubing, then that is another issue....

I THINK WHAT HE IS TRYING TO SAY IS THE RESERVOIR CAN IS LEAKING THE BEST THING TO DO IS REPLACE THE CAN THAT IS WHAT I DID IT WAS A 3M WINDSHIELD SOLVENT I EMPTYED THE CAN AN IT WAS A PERFECT MATCH. THAT IS THE GOOD NEWS THE BAD NEWS IS THEY NO LONGER MAKE IT IN THAT SIZE CAN. SO LOOK AROUND TO YOU FIND ONE THATS THE SAME SIZE. THE OLD CANS USUALLY GET PIN HOLES IN THE BOTTOM. MIKE

mikzjr@aol.com, please in the future turn your caps lock off. On the internet in fourms and chat rooms it is consider as yelling. If the typing in upper and lowercase is a problem, it is better to type in all lowercase.
Just a friendly, FYI. smile.gif" border="0

I need to seal the reservoir.I have tried to find a replacement, but no luck yet. When I wander through Wall Mart with my ruler and the help wants to help and I tell them I am looking for a can and I don't care what is in it as long as it's the right size they treat me in a strange way. (wonder why)If anyone knows of a sealer or a container that would be close I would be grateful. Thanks
Gary

Your local tinsmith or sheet metal shop should be able to either patch the holes on the inside with solder or silver solder. With a little careful preparation and paint you would never know it had been repaired.

Gary, Try looking through the stuff on eBay. I sold a can to a fellow that needed to replace a fuel can in a duck blind heater. The old Neatsfoot oil can was just the right size.Yeah, sounds funny but it is true.
