Mopar question

Recommended Posts

I have a 46 Chrysler, would the electric wiper motor from a Plymouth or Dodge of the 46, 47, 48 variety bolt into my Chrysler?

Doing some modifications and found a direct replacement 12 volt wiper motor for the 46 - 48 Plymouth and Dodge. But the vender doesn't think that these will interchange with the Chrysler.

Sure would like to prove him wrong.

My 1950 Motors Flat rate manual says that 1941 through 1948 Chrysler wiper motors are interchangeable with Dodge and Desoto, but evidently not Plymouth. Plymouth for those years shows a different part number.

Thanks for that. So now I am really confused.

I guess I will order one of these up and hope it fits. They will allow me to return it.

The printed catalog says 'fits Mopar 46-48. But the online says 'fits Plymouth and Dodge 46-48'

It is apparently a kit so I might get lucky.

I Plymouth had vacuum wipers through these years, although Chrysler and DeSoto had electric. Dodge, at least in light pickup trucks also had vacuum wipers in those years.

The Yogis catalog shows an electric replacement for the vacuum wipers.

They are a rod supplier and are 12 volt.
