Guest towd
Where is the best place to get wheel cylinders for my 33 dodge? I've checked rock auto and others to no avail. I also need the master cylinder - either a new replacement or rebuild the one currently on car. Any input is appreciated.
zeke01
I had mine rebuilt at White Post. They came back ready to install. Good job but you get what you pay for. Zeke
RWPerry
I had my master cylinder rebuilt by Apple Hydraulics. They did a good job and quick turn around time.
30dodge35
I got mine from oldmoparparts, Andy bernbaum, or Roberts, see pivtures, i find usually old cylinders need to be sleeved, replace with new ,
Taylormade
Although Burnbaum and Roberts list cylinders for 32 Dodges, when you call them it turns out they only have the correct cylinder for the rear brakes. The front cylinders are different - slightly larger and with a different bolt pattern. I don't know about the 33 model, it may not be the same. Why they list them the way they do mystifies me, why not just list what they have correctly?
hwellens
The reproductions will bolt up, but, I have found out the the bore size may not be correct and therefore the wrong pressure will be applied. I had this problem on new wheel cylinders for a 38 Dodge.
30dodge35
I got 30 DA from Meyers, no problems, the ones I got for 35 from Roberts worked, they were a little sponges at first , then reset with a Amsco Brake Micrometer,It gets the pad set correctly centered. zeke01
I saw one of those brake gauges on eBay but was too late to snag it. Maybe next time. Zeke
