Guest AlCapone
I have a very old license plate holder that has slight pitting. Is there a way to get rid of the pitting or must I have it rechromed ? Wayne
30DodgePanel
Pitting means it's in the material and not on the surface..I'd vote for re-chrome Edited January 27, 2015 by 30DodgePanel (see edit history)

There is no way to "get rid" of a hole without stripping the chrome, filling the hole with a suitable metal, and rechroming. More to the point, once you strip the chrome, you will find that the pitting is worse than you think.Sure, you can fill the holes with something. The result will be spots that look like cheap filler. Your call.
