8 cylinder hub cap on ebay Airflow or Airstream I think

Recommended Posts

It has a different back on it than the ones on my Airstream DeLuxe 8. It might be that because it is an aftermarket cap that it is a little different than the factory cap. This is the back of one of my originals.

I think it's original. The back is the same as my 36 Caps. I have a 6 though so they don't have the 8 emblem. The Chrysler script is correct. Maybe they had a few different types. 35CZ8 yours almost look like the caps I have for wire wheels with the retaining clips. On my 6 the clips are on the rim.

I have one of these hubcaps too with the same spring clips.

My understanding is that the non-spring clip was used on the U.S. "Arttillary " wheels and the spring style were use on wheels in Canada that used the standard rim.

Cheers

Mark

My Airstream DeLuxe 8 is, by the way, a 1935 model year and I think they changed the hubcap clips in 1936 by putting them on the wheels instead of the cap itself. Can anyone confirm that this is when the change was made?

Bob
