Waldrons exhaust

Just installed complete new system, including their hanger kit. I know there has been some discussion on the hangers, but I'm sure glad I bought them. The appalling mess I had rather defies description, suffice it to say a baling wire lashup would have been an improvement ! Fortunately all the frame mounting points were OK, Waldrons hangers made the installation straightforward.

Hi Winston. I contemplated stainless but decided the extra cost was a bit too much for my budget. Also I think it may have a different sound, and I wanted it to be quiet. The driver's side was a bit of a fiddle, but after cutting app. 1" of the front pipe to bring the resonator slightly forward it all went in very nicely.

Cheers, Dale.

Hi. I recall the over axle pipes being a fairly close fit, but found I could get them to clear the frame and tires OK with a bit of fiddling. I  left the muffler loose 'til I got the four pipes lined up and in to place. Hope this helps .  Cheers, Dale.

I am contemplating a Waldrons system for my '65. I like quiet. But I recollect some of the cars of the '60's with stock exhaust had this awful 'whoosh' type of sound under hard acceleration that sounded very restrictive. Sorta like a jet exhaust but with no thrust, if that makes sense. And I don't recall if the Riv's of that time sounded like that. So I would like to know from the guys that have installed them if they sound too restrictive or not; in your opinion of course.

Hi Steve.  Can't say I've noticed the sound you describe, but then "hard acceleration" is somewhat subjective. All I would say is I'm very satisfied with the system they supplied, and I feel we are lucky to have Waldrons.  Cheers,  Dale.
