Guest
I need info on how to disassemble the headlamps on a '36 Dodge. There are no external screws to release the 'rim'. Any info, advise, or diagram would be appreciated.
palbuick
Hi
To remove the original headlight lenses from your 36 Dodge, The lenses sit onat least 3 springs at different locations around the base. You will have to push the lense inward gently with the palm of your hand and twist gently. There are several notches on the base of the H. L. bucket. The lense will have to be turned sidewase and come out at a 90 degree angle. Be careful as not to break the lense, they are a thick heave glass.
I had a book on lenses which showed the procedure but will have to find it
Good Luck.
Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com

Guest
I was able to remove the lenses!! Thanks for the info. Now I will have to see about resilvering or cleaning the reflectors. Any suggestions?
ply33
There was a thread about re-silvering the reflectors a little while ago. ronbarn
Uvira - for my money the only way to go. Deposited aluminum, polished and coated with thin layer of glass. Great reflectivity with no oxidation problem like you have with silver. Located in Oregon and works with good turnaround.
