Recommended Posts

1939 Ford Deluxe Coupe. This is an extremely original and well cared for car that was repainted about 50 years ago but remains in excellent condition. This desirable Early Ford V8 coupe spent most of its life in the southern states and as a result is in excellent condition. The floor pans, sills and frame look like new from the bottom. The chassis is clean with no pitting and shows no signs of abuse or high mileage. The mileage indicated is about 59K and is likely original. The body is laser straight front to back and top to bottom. The doors close easily with a nice clicking sounds and the hood alignment is excellent. The fenders are just as nice on the bottom as they are on the top. The car appears to have been repainted once in its original color. The old lacquer paint certainly shows signs of aging and shrinking, but has a great overall appearance with an even and bright gloss throughout and no signs of underlying problems. The interior was more recently replaced with what looks like a LeBaron Bonney kit and is excellent including the seats, door panels, headliner, etc. The wood grained dashboard and all of its gauges are in excellent as well. The chrome, stainless and glass are also very nice.

Mechanically, this car is about as sound as they come. The flathead V8 engine is whisper quiet. This is the last year for the floor shift transmission which shifts smoothly. The steering and brakes are responsive. The car cruises great and goes down the road with precision. This car has always been mechanically maintained and it shows. All of the gauges and lights work as they should, but the wipers will need to be repaired. The engine bay is clean and the chassis presents the same. The tires are in good condition with plenty of miles left. It is well equipped with fender skirts, driving lights, clock, spot lights, etc. This car is ready to use and enjoy and presents well from all angles. Reasonably priced at xx,000.00.
