WTB: Original 1932 Brake Master Cylinder

Recommended Posts

My 1932 Airman 5 Passenger sedan had the master cylinder replaced with what looks like a late model GM dual cylinder.

I am looking for a useable original master cylinder so I can use the filler tank on the firewall.

Please e-mail me if you have one to sell - wrmyers35@att.net

The dual master cylinder is actually a good idea especially if it functions properly. You can get a cover made for the GM cylinder that has two fittings on top that you could connect to the reservoir on the firewall.

OK, can you tell me where I can obtain the special cover?

Do regular parts stores like auto Zone or O'Reilleys carry them?

Machined aluminum cover can be obtained from Classic Performance Products 714-522-2000 part number RRCK @$75 comes with fittings, plastic hose and plastic reservoir. You don't have to use the reservoir. The part number of the cover and heavy duty wire clamps only is BBRL. I would call them and make sure the cover fits your cylinder. I like their products as they seem to be of high quality.

I ordered the cover but it wouldn't work with my cylinder. My cylinder is rounded on the pedal end but squared on the opposite end.

CPP was very good about letting me return it!
