jeff
What ratio is a '36 Century? Is it the same as a '38 Century at 3.90:1? Can the '36 Century differential assembly be fit to a '38 Special? Jeff
Guest Harry HT
Ratio is the same 3.90:1 but type of the gears are not. '36 have spiral bevel gears and '38 have hyboid type of gears. No direct or easy swap.-Harry-
jeff
Thanks very much for your timely response. Now that you mention it, I remember seeing something in one of my shop manuals about the new hypoid gear drive requiring special lube or something. Your response saved me a lot of research, or maybe jumping to the wrong conclusion and spending a lot of $$.Jeff
