motoringicons
SOLD SOLD SOLDThis 1950 Mercury Coupe was built at the St. Louis Ford plant. It spent the bulk of its life in Missouri and Kansas and appears to have always been a well cared. It was given a frame-on restoration in the early 1990s which included a rebuilt engine, new paint and new interior. Today, the car presents extremely well inside and out. The paint, while older, remains very clean with an overall even gloss and very presentable finish and just has a great overall look to it. The two-toned cloth interior is in excellent condition including the seats, headliner, door panels, etc. The dash board is intact with all of its proper and working gauges. The driver's side rear glass panel has a crack, but all of the other glass in intact and in good condition. The chrome is mostly original and shows some age but is generally clean and blends in with the rest of the car well. The fit on the door panels, deck lid and hood is nice with even gaps and margins throughout. The Mercury flathead V-8 engine starts easily, idles well and propels the car down the road easily at 75 miles per hour thanks to the original and highly desirable factory overdrive. Recently, the car has been serviced with a rebuilt fuel pump, some brake work and newer radial tires. With the exception of the radio, everything seems to be working well including the lights, gauges, etc. This car really goes down the road nice and straight and is a pleasure to operate at highway speeds. It is a nice, honest and solid car that looks good and is ready to enjoy. The price is a reasonable 27,000.00 and the car is located in Jefferson, WI.
