Guest Chuck Conrad Posted June 19, 2000 Posted June 19, 2000 I need a distributor cap (rotor, points & condenser would be nice too) for a 1932 Auburn V-12. Are their any generic replacements or is NOS the only source? Any part numbers, sources, etc. would be appreciated.
Chuck Conrad
Guest Posted June 27, 2000 Posted June 27, 2000 I found a listing for the pionts and condenser in a 1990 Neihoff catalog. They show a part # for the pionts as DR15 and DR 22 for the condenser. (DR = Delco Remy) unfortuneatly there's no listing for the cap and rotor. The pionts and condenser fit many GM cars of the thirties. That being the case, I'd say your dist. cap & rotor would be interchangeable with a 12 cyl. Cadillac or LaSalle. Hope this information helps.
Guest Posted June 27, 2000 Posted June 27, 2000 Chuck,~~ You might try C. Bouteiller, 427 Monterey Rd., Great Barrington, Mass. 01230
(413) 528 2815. I have had good luck in finding early ignition parts from him. Just got some points for an early Cadillac from him for Thomas Borchers in Germany. Good man to work with, but not inexpensive.
~~ Howard
Guest Posted June 27, 2000 Posted June 27, 2000 Chuck - agree with HVS, Bouteiller is very good. You might also want to check out Special Interest Autos, Ardmore, OK. Have had good luck with him in past. They charge a lot for the early car electric parts but the stuff they have or can get is very hard to find.
Guest Chuck Conrad Posted June 28, 2000 Posted June 28, 2000 Thanks for the help with the ignition parts. I'll check out your suggestions. In fact, I have to be in Massachusetts next week anyway, so I might drop in on Mr. Bouteiller
Chuck
