ronbarn Posted March 27, 2000 Share Posted March 27, 2000 Have a suspicion you may have a booster diaphram problem, but you need to tell us a couple of things: You say that without the vacuum hookup the pedal does not go to the floor, but you did not state that you can stop the car. Also what is the status of the brake fluid. I had a similar problem with the booster in my '61 Cad and the fluid got pumped through the vacuum line and out the exhaust - bad diaphram - lost brake fluid - no brakes.
