We are in the process of working on a 1937 Buick Roadmaster Series 80 trying to get it road ready so we can enjoy it. I am having problems finding parts anywhere for something this old. We would would prefer OEM parts that look original on this car. From what we know everything on the car is factory. There are a couple things missing, nothing major. As we drive the car we will need certain things to keep it on the road. I posted some images of the car in my profile gallery. Some of the things that appear to be missing like the carburetor and bumpers are not. The bumpers were removed and chromed recently. The carburetor has been removed so we can rebuild it. Any suggestions or information would be helpful. All the places that I have found that have classic Buick parts only go back to 1946.

Don't overlook your local NAPA dealer. They can get many common maintenance items like fan belts, spark plugs, brake parts etc. It is surprising what old parts are available IF the parts man can find a good part number.

If there is an old dusty parts store in your town, with a couple of old gray haired or bald headed grouches behind the counter, the kind of place farmers buy parts for their tractors, they are usually good for getting old unusual parts. Sometimes they have them in stock.

Otherwise we will wait for the Buick fans to tell us where the Buick parts specialists are.

Can I suggest that you become a member of the BCA? There are vendors in the monthly magazine, a yearly member list of cars owned and Region chapters that might be close to you. Scroll down under the general forum and you will find a section dedicated to Buick. There are many people, very willing to help out any way that they can, or to guide you in the right direction.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. Believe it or not parts won't be that hard to come by. Unfortunately I can't assist you as my car is a Special and few parts interchange. I would suggest joining https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/1937and1938Buicks/info . Many members from the old 37-38 group are members. BTW, it's free to join.

I'm sure someone will suggest Dave Tacheny and provide a phone number to contact him. He is a great and reasonable source for parts.

Carl

The place to go for the older Buick stuff is Bobs Automobilia. They are good guys and have just about everything you might need.

They have an online catalog:

http://bobsautomobilia.com/shop/

I have bought a lot of stuff for my '38 Roadmaster - virtually the same car as yours
