does the regular 1987 buick regal come with a column shift or a floor shift?

It would come however you wanted. I've had a plain old 231-2barrel with buckets and a console and a Turbo T with column shift.

He's right, the Regal options were very flexible, but probably 90% of non-turbos have a column shift.

uggggg thats not realy what i wanted to hear. does the regal limited have a floor shifter, or do i have to be lucky to find a regal with a floor shifter. cause i want to sell my lesabre T for a regal and drop a small block 350 or a pontiac 400 in it. cause what i was gunna do is make it look like a GN but with a much bigger engine.

Now before you do something rash, like sell your T-type, realize this. I know from experience, that you won't like this car, here's why. The platform is really old, mid 70's, that means, very primitive suspension, interior, body, everything. My girlfriend had an '86 Limited with a 307. I'll tell you this, it was VERY gutless. The GN is lightyears ahead in power, reliability, technogolgy, smoothness, and economy. Even with a 350 or 400 swap, it will still be much slower than a GN. And the swap will be difficult. All the newer ones had computers AND 3 miles of vaccum hoses. If you want working AC you'll have to find one without climate control and combine several systems. Also, plan on getting bad gas mileage, and cornering like a cabin cruiser. But, if you can live with just a speedo and gas gauge, drive one and you'll see. im not looking for a touring car.....a show/drag car is what i want so handleing isnt important to me just as long as it goes fast straight. But maybe i will buy a 87 GN....found one for sale 8k. nice buy<P>-Gabe

Maybe I spoke too quick. I could get you a '86 regal for cheap. It has a blown engine, a little surface rust, but the interior is clean. Make me an offer. yeah i do need that front spoiler that robb has......been waiting a while for it. well im not selling my t-type.....its been to nice to me. but im gunna hold on the regal idea for now.. i want to make my t-type fast as balls hehee.
