I attended a local car show last Sunday and thought I'd share shots of some of our Canadian owned Buick's that were there.

While not a fan of the biggie rims she does wear them well. Check out that air filter cover! There are two four barrels hidden under that!

I know the owner and he has worked in a small body shop all his life. I believe this was his dad's car given to him for his first and he did the work to what you see today.

Of course there were many makes and mods there too including my 1989 Mercury Cougar.

Glad you folks enjoyed the pics.

I meant to give the location which was in Amherstburg, Ontario right at the head of the Detroit River and Lake Erie. It is an annual event and they get about 650 cars filling the downtown which is quite historic.

Since I recently brought my Cougar out of storage it has sparked an interest to attend shows again and we decided to go to Wallaceburg, Ontario. The show is called WAMBO (Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing) http://www.kent.net/wambo/ which includes: wood boats, antique cars, street rods, firetrucks, big trucks and soap box derby's too and we saw more Buick's:

She purred in under her own power never missing a beat! Now that's a Buick!

Ok so not Buick's, our little group had a fun day!

Rich,

Actually the show is always the 2nd Saturday of August so earlier than Back to the Bricks & Woodward Cruise but a nice moderate sized show with many interesting things to see.

I'm not sure why I did not take any pictures of the boats this year but can show you some when I went in 2005 that I have handy.

This years boat attendance was about half of this but like any car show things change year to year with boat events too.

That year I snagged a ride on a fire truck during the short parade.

In keeping with the "sharing of Buick's at Canadian Car Shows", here is my Special that year.

Nice pics Doug. As for "shows", it seems to me that interest in shows has really dropped off this year. Of course there are so many around that maybe things are just more spread out. But I think some folks are disillusioned when their car or boat does not draw attention and then hold back on future shows. Kinda sad.
