Guest 1935du
I want to replace my distributor to coil wire on the 35'. Mine is original cloth covered, but has cracks with wire showing thru. is this a resistance wire or just plain wire. Anyone know where to get original cloth wire? Thanks. Rusty_OToole
It is a plain solid core (metal core) wire. If you are not concerned with authenticity you can replace it with a modern carbon core radio suppression wire as used on all cars since the mid fifties.By using the suppression coil wire and regular solid core plug wires, you will eliminate radio and TV interference and not louse up your ignition. If you are concerned with authenticity the cloth covered wires are available from Bernbaum and other vintage parts dealers. Guest 1935du
Thanks, I looked in the Bernbaum catalog and did not see it. I really want to keep the car as original as possible. I will look again. Thanks.
Ron Lawson
Try Myers Early Dodge Brothers Parts They carry all that sort of stuff Nice people to deal with too
jpage
You can also buy what you need from the wiring harness folks like Rhode Island Wiring. Just tell them what you need.
