sherwood3333
can anyone tell me if the gauges on a 49 chevy are the same on a 49 buick? will they fit in the dash? what is the difference. thanks
cooterbfd
Is it for a Special, Super or Roadmaster?? The 1949 Special has the same gauges as all '48 Buicks. From Google images the 1949 Chevy car gauges all sweep from the bottom. My '49 Super the Gas and ammeter sweep from the top, and may actually read backwards (ie empty is all the way to the left, and full to the right). If you have a Special, I have 3 NOS gauges for sale on the Buick f/s thread. The only one I dont have is the Temp gauge. Thanks, John

cooterbfd
Ok. Like I said, I think that the gas gauge from the Chevy would read backwards (looking at the pics of a '49 Chevy dash), unless you ould mount it upside down. Sorry I couln't be of more help
