Jrope
Where would the body to frame/engine braided ground strap be located on my 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aero? I know that there should be one, but I cannot locate it. These six-volt electrical systems need all the help they can get !!!
Guest Oldengineer
I own a 48 Fleetmaster Town Sedan, and, I've never found a frame/engine ground on her. I got my hands on some heavy gauge high temperature insulated wire and added an auxiliary ground. I ran it from the last bolt on the exhaust manifold to the base of the voltage regulator. It improved the performance of my charging system. My generator seems to recharge the battery much faster.Regards:Oldengineer
Guest Bob Call
I don't know where a factory installed ground strap would be located, but, you can install one (be sure it's for a 6V system) and connect to any bolt in contact with the engine block or head and the other end to the frame or to the body. Be sure the contact points are on bare not painted metal.
stude1946
Try coming off of the battery and bolted to the frame.
