This weekend we attended Freedom Christian Academy's Booster Club Car Show, Fayetteville, NC

It was a small show but we had the pleasure of having a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-350 parked next to us.

That's what I paid for premium this week. That said, I don't know how Australian and Canadian dollars compare right now.

Premium 94 octane no-ethanol fuel in Vancouver right now is $170.9 /litre ?

still working on the 2500 mike challenge though!  Touring a fellow Buick owner from Australia around today.

This morning, I rolled my 1938 Century project around on the four wheel dollies to point it towards the garage door. I drove it out of the garage, down the driveway, into the street to turn it around and, after letting it run for a half hour, I pulled it back into the garage and angled it into the restoration bay pointed in the opposite direction. I was then able to just use two wheel dollies to roll it into position in the restoration space in the back of the garage. I am attaching a photo of the project taken during a similar short drive a few days ago.

I later took my 1937 Century to lunch, and later, to dinner, this evening. I took a photo of the 1937 Century in the driveway after dinner, before backing it into the garage.

After a full day of desk paper work Saturday, Sunday I just had to get behind the wheel of the Special so brought it home after taking the long way around.

Hopefully we have seen the last of the SNOW!

It was 62 today and forecast is for 60's all week.

Trading places. I took the yellow 73 SunCoupe off of the lift in the garage and put the Harvest Gold 73 4 speed on it. (It will come out again the beginning of June for the Greenwich Concours.) I then drove the SunCoupe for 20 miles to blow the cob webs out. This Sunday I will take her to the Fairfield Concours D'Caffiene and a 60 mile tour and lunch. If the weather is good I will also take her to the Ct. Cafe Racers lunch in Westport Thursday.

I got the '60 Electra out Sunday morning and ran it up to the other end of town for the New York State inspection. Joe, the mechanic, put the sticker on for the 16th time. 86,109 miles, I think it had 69,000 when I bought it.

Then I took my Wife over to the next county for lunch at the place on the town square.

I like the white on that car when the sun is just right in Fall and Spring.

Got a jump on the weekend driving Friday when I finished work early and went to the garage where the Special is parked. Decided I had time to drive the short distance over to see Mom.

Naturally she had a list of things to do she has been thinking about...

With a crack of thunder told her I had to take my baby back and put her away.

I'll be back...

Doug - Awesome mid-century neighborhood!  Did you happen to live down the street from the Brady's...?

This area was developed what was then outside on the edge of the City limits in the late 50's.

In fact our house was built September of 1958. Fortunately we had great neighbours who didn't give Dad (or me) a had time with car events like this one. ?

It was and still is a middle class income area and my High School is now the "Go To" one in the City due to it's Education Programs.

Sadly it has lost all the Technical Shops which I took in my day.

I went back to the Schools 50th Anniversary and found the Auto Shop specifically was converted into a Vic Tanny's type Wellness Education room... ?

That's the future of our old car hobby.

I didn't drive a Buick today, but our local CCCA region had an outing to Lakeside Sand and Gravel, which has an open house each year. They have a huge collection of vintage earth-moving equipment, much of it restored and operational, which they pull out and put to work. It's very impressive to see these gigantic ancient machines tearing through the earth without much effort.

We've been there each year and there's always something new, and this year I spotted this mostly original teens Buick:

Too bad it was 40 degrees and raining outside, so the kids didn't want to stay long and we drove the Suburban rather than an old car. I hate waiting to drive the old cars--I'm ready. Hope to have the Limited up on its feet before too long.

I'd say you guys in Australia definitely know how to old car. Fantastic! Wish we could get that kind of outing going around here. I miss seeing a large group of pre-war cars on tour.

The 36-38 Buick Club tour will be May 7 - 10 in Auburn, Indiana. I will be touring with my 1937 Century and then going to the AACA Auburn Meet after the tour. We would be happy to have other Straight 8 era Buicks join us. Let me know if you need more information.

I had to deadline the 24 Buick PU for the Nickel Tour in two weeks.  It had only 5 psi oil pressure on my return from getting it gassed up.  So, I turned my attention to fixing the adjustable magneto coupling on my 13 Model 31 Buick.  The mag skipped time while on the HCCA Yosemite Tour last month.  My buddy, Captain Bob knurled the worn mating surface on the collet taper so it would not slip again.  My daughter helped me re-set the timing and we went for a couple of test drives to get it right.  Both Buicks are nickel cars, so now I am ready for the HCCA Nickel Tour starting May 14th in Sequim WA.  I will give the 24 PU some attention when I get back from the tour.

Took Ruby to classic car gathering in Kyrenia harbour today , couple of photos below of Americans.

very stressful though as everyone kept touching and leaning on as they took at least 100 photos ,

I had to wear my grumpy old man hat , and tell many not to touch , one chap actually opened door and went to sit inside for photo shoot, but good day. Lovely 55 fully restored corvette my favourite, but sadly photo didn’t come out

Yes the open your door thing happens once in awhile... Education regarding respect of property can be handled kindly (if I can keep it together) and usually the general public comes to realise they did wrong.

Fortunately I guess, my Special is well worn and don't freak when someone gets a little too up close and personal.

Still looked like a nice day Pilgrim65.

Holy cow, that's the first FWD Eldorado convertible I've seen with non-stock wheels that don't look totally ridiculous. They're obviously OEM from something else, but getting that offset to work on those cars has always been a challenge. Kudos!

I got the '75 Electra out of its winter storage yesterday. The battery was DOA. Finally got it started and the lower fuel line was leaking. My son in law put a quick patch over the leak with some rubber hose and clamps. Got it started again, warmed it up and drove it home 15 miles or so. Glad she did not stall or I would have been stuck. As soon as I got home she was dead again. Son in law got a new hose and battery and good as new!  We took it today to the Concours d' Caffiene in Westport Ct. with lunch after for a 78 mile roundtrip. Rainy and Cold in the morning. It did stop early and the day turned out sunny and a little warmer. I took the yellow SunCoupe to lunch Thursday it was gorgeous out. Glad the weather was nice as the drivers window fell off the track again!

Forgive me for not being familiar with the vernacular, but what does "torch ball shoe change" mean? I'm sorry for not understanding, but I'd be very interested to know if those wheels were a bolt-on or if he needed to do some major modifications.
