Guest mikehagi
I have, what I believe is a 1909 Buick Speedster. The motor number is #881 and the frame number is #1736. Can anybody tell me what year this car actually is?

Dandy Dave
Photos would help pin down a Model. Dandy Dave!
nzcarnerd
The numbers seem right for a 1909 Model 16 roadster but some pictures would be helpful.
nzcarnerd
I see you have posted in the prewar Buick section as well and mention problems posting pics. Check that your pics are not too big.

Guest mikehagi
I posted a pic. See above, 1909 Buick Speedster. Am I correct with the year and make? Has #881 on motor and #1736 on the frame.

Guest mikehagi
I [posted one a little while ago. Can you help me find out anything?
trimacar
From the wheelbase, this appears to be a 1912 Buick model 28 or 29 touring, that's been modified into a speedster. The long running boards strongly suggest it was a touring at one time. The serial and motor numbers you mention fall in the range of that year and model Buick. This would be a 25 horsepower car with 4" bore and 4" stroke, and originally rode on 34 x 3.5 tires. The only other early Buick on 108 inch wheelbase was a big Model 5 in 1908, and your serial numbers don't match what that car would have had..... trimacar
It's not a Model 16, that car had a long hood and a scuttle dash, not the flat dash shown. Also, steering column angle is wrong for a Model 16, not slanted enough.
