Re-chroming Skylark wire wheels

Does anyone here have experience in rechroming the Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels on 1953 Skylarks? I have just come into possession of two very rusty ones and am wondering how difficult it is to get them replated, and if it is even worthwhile. I presume they have to be completely disassembled in order to be replated, and that alone is a daunting task with these. See photo.

We had 5 Skylark wheels plated maybe 10 years ago. We plated the rims and centers and mounted new polished stainless spokes. Cost about $1000 each wheel for the plating and spokes but they were close to perfect. We considered using the available repro wheels but they differ somewhat from the originals in the center.
