Centurion
I've followed with great interest many of the topics and posts related to the disappearance of fine restored or original cars from the streets and highways. It is true that the street rods completely dominate the local car show and cruise-in scene, and it's occurred to me that the only way for this to change is for the guys with the original and restored cars to keep bringing them out rather than giving up.
On July 27, our local chapter of the Buick Club in Washington State teamed up with the local Pontiac and Oldsmobile clubs for an all-day driving tour. The end result was inspiring, not only for those of us behind the wheel, but also to the onlookers along our route.
Guess what? Driving old cars is a whole lot more fun than sitting in the sun at a car show all day. Hope you enjoy the photos in the link shown. These were taken by a Buick friend of mine. We're doing our part to keep the old ones on the road. Thank goodness for guys like Pat Jacobs, who took to the highway with his beautiful original '38 Buick Special.
Here's the link:
http://www.classicroad.com/BOP/
[ 08-06-2002: Message edited by: Centurion ]
