Tom Burtch 17 Posted January 13, 2014 This was with a lot of parts mostly from 1935-1948, so I think it is for an early Lincoln Zephyr. Please pardon me if this is a silly question, but I thought all Zephyr cars had V-12 engines, so does anyone recognize this part? It is about 4 1/2" overall diameter and could be a steering wheel center cap, but not even sure of that, so would appreciate any tips to identify. Thanks, Tom
Bleach 1,081 Posted January 13, 2014 It's actually from an English Ford that was also called a Zephyr. It is from a six cylinder model
John Murphy 3 Posted January 13, 2014 Tom; All Lincoln Zephyrs from 1936 thru 1948 were Lincoln 12 cylinder engine powered. Your part is not from anyone of them.
Tom Burtch 17 Posted January 13, 2014 Thanks guys. I wasn't thinking that it could be British, but I did recognize some early Ford Prefect parts in the lot, so that makes sense. Good to know that all North American Zephyrs were V-12's. Tom
Bleach 1,081 Posted January 13, 2014 A little further research yields that it is from a mid 50's Ford Zephyr Mark I
DSpringer 3 Posted January 13, 2014 I had one for awhile while in high school. Hot little car, but the axles broke easily.
