Guest myold88
Unrelated Olds factory story: At a car show with my '51 88A 2 door, an oldtimer told me that back in the early 50's GM asked the town of Framingham, Ma. (where my Olds was built) for permission to expand/enlarge the plant. The town turned GM down. In short order GM shut the plant down and moved out. Hundreds of jobs lost thanks to politicians....Strange how some things never change.
Steve Moskowitz
Actually it shut down for good in 1989. There was some struggle on the political front between the state and the town as I recall but the economics at GM was also a big part of the decision as well. Guest myold88
Your correct Steve. I did a google search. Wikipedia has a good write up on the complete plants history.
