Beltfed Posted December 27, 2013 Share Posted December 27, 2013 As promised in an earlier post I am reporting on my results in finding a modern replacement for the temperature sensor. Below are several pics of my findings. Please be aware this worked for me and I offer no guarantee. Also note that I had to mess with the calibration settings a bit to get everything to work. One pic shows the back of the gauge where these calibration gears are located. Cost was...$11.00 for the sensor, $1.91 for voltage regulator, a couple of bucks for the resistor and diode. Max. Current through the gauge was about 170mA. Also please note that my gauge is the old style (I think) as it sits at full cold instead of full hot with key off. peecher Posted December 28, 2013 Share Posted December 28, 2013 Looks like patience paid off. Did some checking and it seems they changed the "off" position on the temp gage in 1939.
