whtbaron
Good looking car... I believe there was also a roadster built on the A body chassis with some strange induction pipes sticking through the hood (the Daroo?). Other manufacturers also looked at this body style, and strangely enough, they ended up looking very similar. Personally, I think with a 426 Hemi under the hood, I'd want a roof.... might have something to do with our cold winters too.
whtbaron
You made me curious so I dug up a few pics... the original Daroo wasn't quite as wild as the concept drawing, but close.
whtbaron
The Daroo II may have been an attempt to come up with a more streetable version, but still never made it to production. If you Google Daroo II you will also find the Charger Daytona version above, but technically I don't believe that was ever called a Daroo.
whtbaron
The earliest version of this car may well have been a concept for a 1964 Charger. This is one I'd love to clone.

I was delighted to have sat in it and steered it into the storage facility at the museum. The Charger in the first photo is actually called the "Super Charger" and was a different show car....
