Guest jpatino
Hi Evenyone!! I'm still looking for a set of front fenders. Saw this on Ebay. Does anyone know if these fenders are the same as a 29 Commander? This looks more like a 28 to me, but has a radiator that looks like the 29/30 so I'm just curious if they are the same. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1929-Studeba...item3a86de4532 Thanks jpatino
Mark Huston
Based on the engine and the windshield window crank this is a 3rd series 1928 Dictator. I doubt if the fenders will interchange with a 29 Commander, however, you would need to refer to a parts book to be sure.
studeq
The vehicle in the ebay auction is a 1929 Studebaker model GK Six with 248 c.i. Commander Six engine. The GK was was produced from Jan thru Oct 1929 (1460 units). It was on an extended 146" wheelbase and was used almost exclusively for ambulance and funeral car bodies (principally supplied by Superior Body Co. of Lima, Ohio). You did not say what series your car is. The fenders on that vehicle will interchange with late production model GE Dictators but not the Commander. Contact me directly if you need more information. Guest jpatino
Thanks for the info. I have a 29 FD Commander. Looks like the search continues. I've seen more Erskine and Dictator body parts out there than for my Commander. Lol
