cord replica at hershey

Recommended Posts

I think this is the one you are referring to. Unfortunately I took the shot to show a friend with my low resolution camera and even after blowing it up can't make out the number. post-43003-14314224457_thumb.jpg

I could be wrong, but I swear the price on that thing was $115,000. There was a restored yellow Cord in the corral for $140,000.

No, the asking price was $11,500...it was fiberglass, a rolling chassis set up for a small block Chevy or the like...but seemed to have some good parts and decent body fit.....If I didn't own an original, I'd have worked on it....didn't get the number either, but later in the show the Cord appeared to be gone, and a 1959-60 Tbird parked behind the trailer. This was in the fenced in area road leading to Hershey World and hard to get to....if someone bought it, it was a good deal on a car to have fun with...

I did not make it to Hershey, but I used to be a member of replicar/kit car club. There was a company called Samco that used to make Cord replicas. Seen them with Mopar and Ford power. I am sure there are some around.

Well, $11,500 sounds a lot more reasonable! We were in the Red Field trying to peer across the fence and through the rain, and that sign was awfully small. We didn't even realize it was a replica at the time. Thanks for the heads up.

This one wasn't an old replica, but a more recent repro fiberglass body on a rolling frame....had some good parts though, and was worth the money for a replicated build...
