39BuickEight
Well, I have been on this kick lately where I really like red wheels. It appears, unless I am wrong that red wheels were offered in 1938 and 1940, but not 1939??? How bad would it be for me to have red wheels? I guess I know the answer. Maybe I'll get an extra set one day after I get it on the road. Also, can anyone give me any links to photos that show the difference of Sequoia Cream vs. Bryce Beige on a real car, and not on paint chips?Body repairs are starting so the color thoughts are all coming back again Thanks! Barney Eaton
The BCA judging manual 2005 edition page 29, Appendix XIII (8c) 1938-1958 Optional red wheels. "Dante red was used from 1938-1951. From 1952-1958 different hues of red, each typical of the year, were used." According to the 1939 Buick Accessory facts book, the standard wheel color was the body color, wheel stripe varied with exterior color. If I can get the list to scan, I will attach it to this post. 39BuickEight
Barney, on page 44 here:http://www.buickclub.org/BCA%20JUDGING%20MANUAL/BCAjudgingrev2.pdfthere are no red wheels combinations listed for 1939. That is what I was basing my thoughts on as far as originality.
