Part left over installing heater box!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

It is a piece of duct work that doesn't seem to be for the car! I have a spare heater box and it does not connect to it. All the ductwork seems to be connected. If you recognize the part, let me know.\

I just got the answer from "135dohc" on Turbo-Mopar.com! It goes on the rear of the box to feed the defroster ducts! I will NOT have to pull the entire heater box to install it! Yesterday I had to drill and remove the the seized plug in the head for bleeding air from the head. Yes I can remove seized steel plugs without tearing up the threads in the aluminum head! That was a piece of cake compared to the rest of the work.

I have a load lifted off my mind! I have the rest of the duct work installed and am installing the heater control. Someone had been in here before. I have to get 2 machine screws for mounting the heater control. Didn't notice when I took it out but they were NOT the proper ones. I'm glad I have Ace 1/2 mile away!

I can fire it up now and check the working of the heater controls and the oil pressure gauge. Then onto the Sony radio to see if I can get the antenna to go up and stay there. It goes up when the radio is turned on and then goes right back down?

Then on to the driver's door mirror that is loose and the driver side axle with the torn boot.

Like they say, ACE is the place.

Bill you are one busy beaver, was going to suggest you check the defroster duct, see that I am a little late on that. Can give you very good advice on your torn boot, and if you are the one that tore it then go for it. Very seldom are we lucky enough to catch a torn boot before it has a chance to compromise to the CV joint and that only takes one mud puddle or a few hundred feet of dusty road. Boots are cheap and easily replaced, but if this thing has been exposed to the outside world for any length of time it's best to replace the axle, or have it rebuilt.

I'm with you on that. It's a big enough mess pulling it apart. I sure would not like doing it twice! St. Louis has someone that specializes in rebuilding CV axles. !/2 drive each way and 1 hour wait while they do the work.

If you think that nut on the spindle is big, you should see the one on My 1975 Massey Ferguson garden tractor.
