1912Staver
Hi Mike, I don't know the truck in question but I doubt it is a 1915. 1915's were a one year only model D and had a 3 speed gearbox with the shifter on the outside of the frame alongside the hand brake lever. I can see the handbrake in the sellers photo but not the shifter, perhaps it is there {or has been removed} and does not show up. More likely the truck is a model E; 1916 and up, 4 speed with the shifter in the center. Very few model D's have survived, being a one year only orphan of sorts. Are you looking specifically for a model D {or parts} ? I have a 1922 model E; 3- 3 1/2 ton , project truck available. Greg in Canada
blastermike
hi greg, did you check out the other two pictures on that page for the packard, the one tittled packard dashboard, it looks like there is no centre shifter thats why i thought it could be a Model D, and it does look like the gatechange is there on the outside of the chassis but no lever, as you probably know a lot of stuff gets advertised with the dates incorrect or models incorrectly identified, i am intrested in trucks from that period of ww1 and i thought it looked like a worthy project if it was still available? if as mentioned there was a new radiator which came with it, the price is not bad i reckon, probably cost that to rebuild one! i have tried to contact the packard truck club but have had no response yet as i thought they would surely know of this truck!, i would like to see pictures of your model E project truck please, and some details of whats missing or needed to restore it, i will send you my email address via private message, thanks greg, mike.
