FLYER15015
Sherwood,Pull the fuel line from the carb, slip a rubber hose on it and run it to a milk jug. Then have a "friend" turn it over and see if the pump has any output. You should get fuel pulses from the pump. If you don't, undo the gas tank cap, and blow SOFTLY into the hose. Your "friend should hear bubbling at the tank.Question = does your carb have a small screen filter at the inlet ? If so, is it clean ?Mike in Colorado
danhar1960
As Mike says, check the flow from the pump as described. It would be nice to fit a pressure gauge and check the actual pump pressure. If you've put fuel with Ethanol in it, it may have crapped your diaphragm. That's a double problem as it fills your sump with fuel. You may also have sludge or crap in the tank and some crud may have been caught under one of the valves inside the pump. Also, check that the little hole in the tank filler cap isn't blocked. jenz38
The Preheating Flap in the Exhaust Manifold are free and not sticky ? If its tight in the warm up Position, the Gas in the Carb beginns to boil .. Try to move the Flap at the Counter Weight, look at the Bimetall Volute Spring is it still there ? If i remember right the Weight must be stand in direction to the Motorblock for no Problems.Try the Engine in cold condition,if its all Ok then is it an Option.Your Ignition System is OK ? Coil,Condenser ? it can also be the Reason for a Problem what you described ..
FLYER15015
Sherwood,Danny and Jenz seem to have completed the check list, and we do expect a report on what you found, for the benefit of those that follow. Here in Colorado, our 2 nitwit senators (udahl and bennet) are pushing hard for E-15. Lord knows what that will do to our old cars. May have to "bootleg" some real gas from Mexico.Mike in Colorado
