29pickhupp
Hi AllThis is a photo taken on Water street in my hometown. Can anyone identify the cars in the photo to give a time frame? The roof overhang/sunvisor looks similar to Hupps in the early to mid 20s. Any help or comments would be appreciatedThanks, John
oldford
The one in front might be a 28 Reo, not sure... Frank
29pickhupp
It looks like it could be a 28 REO. I googled 28 REO photos the do look the same to my untrained eye. Some photos have vertical louvers and some horizontal. Thank you for reply, John
keiser31
Second car looks sort of like a DuPont.

Bud Tierney
You have to be careful when using cars to establish a time, unless you mean just a general period...people kept cars longer then (not necessarily the relatively few who could buy new, but the large number who bought used and tended to baby them because it'd be a long time before they'd have the money to buy another, like my mother and father...I don't have software to blow up pic clearly, but the dress of the people would be another way to establish a relative time...from what I can see they do seem to match the cars in this instance--late 20s, maybe early 30s (remember the Depression slowed car sales considerably)...I assume you've checked City Directories to establish how long the hotel stayed in business; if it went out of business or had a name change that might help...
