Bill Jewell
Hello,i am attempting to replace the front wheel bearings on my 1930 Franklin and have run into a small problem. I have pull off the outer bearing assembly (cone & cup) and pull off the brake drum. The inner cup is attached to the inner part of the brake drum. That just leaves the inner cone bearings which I cannot pull off. What is holding this in place that prevents me from pulling it off?Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.Bill
DavidAU
Usually they are just pushed on with a fairly tight fit as they have to have enough friction to stop the inner section spinning when the bearing is in action. If you use a slide hammer with an attachment to contact the back of the bearing body you should be able to get it off.
