cool57
Set screw is very tight. I know there is a bushing that needs replacing. Is the one listed in CARS catalog the one to use? It is also listed in the Corvair sectIon. Maybe it is one of the few interchangeable GM parts on the Riv?

Guest Steeleco
Here's what I did as I had the same problem. On the visor post that has the screw, pull the post out of the mount, take a very thin piece of galvanized sheet metal and wrap the post (works like a bushing). Then when you put it back in the mount it only takes a little tightness of the screw to snug it up.
bb1970
Do '63s not have the set screw where the visor shaft attaches? On my '65 I came up with a fix at Sonic. Having a milkshake with the family. I took the set screw out. Broke a small piece off of a tooth pick put it on the end of the screw and put it back in. Problem solved.
