DSpringer
I'll be dropping in a V-12 to replace the V-8 in my '41 Zephyr this weekend. I understand the ground cable bolts to the chassis in the middle and then to the block, but where does it attach to the chassis and the block? If you have a photo it would be appreciated. I've browsed my photo collection but none show it.

40ZephSedan
Here is a ground cable I put on from Alan Whelihan - Village Auto Warehouse which I think is installed pretty close to authenic. I have also since changed the negative cable and groumet to the starter with a nice new one I picked up at the Lancaster January Parts Swap meet, but do not have a newer photo than this on my PC hard drive (this starter cable shown here is the original- 73 years old, and showing it!)Great to hear another V12 is coming back to life! DSpringer
Perfect. Thanks Lee and Paul. I have the ground cable on order from Narragansett and the negative cables were acquired about 20 years ago, also from them. Is that battery an Optima in Zephyr clothing? -Dave
40ZephSedan
Yes it is an Optima, got it from Earle several years ago. Expensive the first time with the additional cost of case. But ships in regular mail right to the house, looks great, right size, posts are in the correct position an have never had a problem. Starts every 1-2 weeks, has never seen a battery charger. Would love to figure out a way to get to CA one of these years and see all those nice cars out there with no Winter road salt! Paul
